Man Standing Statue: Bob the Barber
The Man Standing is one of five bronze statues in downtown Stillwater created by the artist Bronzeman.
This is a sculpture of Nathan “Bud” Payne. Bud ran the Bud’s Barber Shop on Main Street for a very long time. Bud was a friendly man who loved to tell stories, and people loved visiting his shop to hear them. He even gave haircuts to famous people like Garth Brooks! Bud also loved horses and taught kids and cowboys how to ride and rope.
Can you pretend to rope a calf like Bud did?
