Early Childhood Coalition
Stillwater, Oklahoma
The Early Childhood Coalition works to foster communities’ efforts in promoting healthy growth and development of young children. We come together as Working Groups, led by our Board of Directors, to make a difference for the families of the 5,000+ young children in our county.
Our Guiding principles
Healthy Relationships are Core to Healthy Families
Earlier is Better: Babies are Born Learning
Promote Health While Providing Intervention
All Caregivers can be Brain Builders
Our Collaborations
ECC works with community partners to address gaps in services, create awareness about early childhood issues, and promote community events and projects that support families with young children. Our projects include:
Administering the HealthySteps program in SMC Pediatrics.
Collaborating with Resilient Payne County and Oklahoma State University on the Healthy Communities, Healthy Children Initiative to address core issues facing our families in a systematic, sustainable way.
Partnering with Our Daily Bread and Infant Crisis Services in OKC since 2018 to bring the Baby Mobile to our community for twice-monthly visits. The Baby Mobile provides formula, diapers, wipes, bottles and food to families with children under four years of age.
Working with OSU Human Development and Family Sciences Internship program to create opportunities for student/workforce development through HealthySteps.
Administering and participating in the Kaleidoscope Child Abuse Awareness Event each Spring.
